heatapp! single-room control FAQ
What network settings need to be made for heatapp!
As a rule, no further network settings in the router are necessary for heatapp!. heatapp! obtains the IP addresses with which access to the home network is granted from the router via DHCP. Standard household routers with default settings do not block the Internet access of heatapp!
Users who have customised the settings of their router or routers in complex company networks sometimes require releases of some ports in the firewall settings.
If you need more information about the ports used by heatapp!, feel free to email .
What is the heatapp! installation stick needed for?
The heatapp! installation stick can be used in the same way as the heatapp! USB-LAN adapter (from the installation kit). If the heatapp! installation stick is plugged into heatapp! base or heatapp! gateway, it provides a WLAN network with which the setup wizard of the heatapp! components can be accessed. The installation stick is removed from heatapp! base or heatapp! gateway after installation and remains in the possession of the installer.
What is the difference between heatapp! WLAN Stick and heatapp! installation stick?
The heatapp! WLAN stick is used to integrate the heatapp! base into the local network. The WLAN stick must remain permanently plugged into the heatapp! base.
The heatapp! installation stick is required by the installer for the initial setup. It creates its own network to which a WLAN-capable end device can connect and enables access to the setup wizard. After installation, the heatapp! installation stick must be removed.
What happens if the batteries in the heatapp! sense are empty?
The heatapp! system generates warning messages when the batteries are low. By default, this message occurs at a battery status of 10%. The value can be changed in the professional menu of the heatapp! base.
If a weak battery is not replaced and fails completely at some point, the heatapp! floor switches to emergency operation 90 minutes later and the valve output is activated (opened).
If there is a connection to the boiler, the corresponding value is generated as the demand value from the desired temperature (rotary wheel/switching time) and the system parameter "Emergency operation room control" (factory setting 200% = desired temperature 21° results in a demand of 42° on the boiler).
Why can't the heatapp! base find the heatapp! gateway anymore?
If the heatapp! base can no longer connect to the heatapp! gateway in an existing system, please check whether a plug-in power supply unit of the first generation is being used for the power supply of the heatapp! gateway. Replace the plug-in power supply unit with a commercially available micro USB B 5V charging cable.
Can the heatapp! radio components be installed before including?
The heatapp! radio components should always be included near the heatapp! gateway and only mounted afterwards. This ensures that the including is correct and that the radio components are successfully connected to the heatapp! system after installation.
How will I be informed about a malfunction?
heatapp! informs you when there is a malfunction. The setting of who is notified is done in the app by the expert or owner under Settings/System/Notifications. There are two different types of notifications:
E-mail notifications send an e-mail to the stored e-mail address in the event of a fault.
Push messages are displayed on the end devices of the users for whom the push message is activated. The app requires the authorisation to send messages in the respective device settings of the operating devices.
Both notifications are independent of each other. This allows each user to decide which type of notification they prefer.
Why can I no longer update my heatapp! devices?
The heatapp! base indicates that the date/time is not correct or that there is no internet connection? If so, it may no longer be possible to update via the Internet.
As with many electronic devices, updates for older systems are no longer possible indefinitely.
There are two ways to detect the software status of the units:
- The software status can be read either in the version information under "My installation".
- If the units have not yet been installed and no update has been installed so far, the software status can be determined from the date of manufacture.
Date of manufacture of the equipment
The update capability of the heatapp! and heatcon! units can be determined by the date of manufacture. It is given in year-calendar week, e.g. 2140 = year 2021 calendar week 40.
It can be read both on the type plate of a unit and on the label of the packaging.
